Hear from the Team

Errol McKenzie, Clinical Administrative Director of Laboratory and Pathology

Here, it’s a feeling of family. Every single day, coming in, I don’t dread coming to work. I genuinely like the colleagues that I work with, and we all work toward a similar goal — it is all about patient care. Even though in the lab we don’t have direct patient contact, the role we play is critical. When someone needs a transfusion, our job is to make sure they get the right component in a timely manner. Nobody likes to wait. So even though they never see us, what we do matters.

Bridget Sheahan

Manager of Transfusion Services

When it comes to quality, we’re second to none — and we have data to support that. In one year in particular, New York State Department of Health cited us with zero deficiency, which is unheard of in a laboratory this size and test menu. We don’t have a lot of turnover. The team is solid, people know their respective duties, and they perform at the highest level. At the end of the day, it’s all about patient care — how well you do ultimately boils down to the patient. We’re extremely proud of what we’ve achieved over the last decade. It’s not something we do for one year — we’ve been doing this.

Errol McKenzie

Clinical Administrative Director of Laboratory and Pathology

What's the Catch?

Clasp gets this question a lot — and we don't mind it at all. There is no catch, and there are no clawbacks, with a Clasp program. (Think of it like a healthy relationship — where you can exit at any time, but we sure hope you stay.)
